At this point it’s morbid curiosity. Same reason I have Duke Nukem ~~3D~~ Forever. If The Day Before was an offline game, I check it out too just for laughs. I still have GOG offline installers for Cyberpunk v1.0, because that is some funny shit when you didn’t preorder it.

I’ll still pirate that shit.

It’s essentially the same as using a boot cd before using a copied game, which also was a thing then.

I also get your point, but it’s a relatively minor distinction in Texas.

I know a few people that work a Renaissance Faire there who have gotten pulled over multiple times and almost went to jail because they were doing the speed limit in the slow lane, it was considered suspicious, and they looked like hippies.

will be unable to travel through Texas without legitimate fear of detention

Good to see more reasonable people in all of this.

The ecosystem of scammers and idiots is still operating just fine.

And how has Onlyfans content somehow managed to escape being pirated

It hasn’t. Just check torrentgalaxy.

Threads is also overrun by a lot of algorithm induced hate speech and far-right extremism

Pretty sure you’re confusing Threads for Twitter. Threads doesn’t contain any more of that than lemmy or mastodon already does, and it’s probably less, so such handwringing is overstated. They’ve already implemented a “Restrict” setting in addition to blocks and mutes, and frankly their handling of blocking and how people can interact with your account after being restricted or blocked is already more effective than what’s here or on mastodon.
