You can't just run rustup or install the guix rust package because rust has its own standalone self-contained ecosystem which kinda clashes with the declarative nature of guix since it isn't built with integration with tools outside of the rust ecosystem in mind.
I wish rust integrated more nicely with gnu and guix.

Depends on the environment you want to foster. There are already lotsa places where these kinds of "debates" are had (lemmy.world for instance) but really no place where the people that are being debated about can relax and not have to be confronted with the dehumanization they already are confronted with in their daily lives.
Hexbear prioritizes the latter.
