TBH this is always the case when you interact with any social network or any website in general. Data can be always collected. GDPR helps somehow.

I might even consider it out if they weren't selling me music as well and if there was a family option (in my country). And no, I wouldn't consider VPN as I won't do extra work to be able to pay google.

I was highly sceptical about this, too, because watching Netflix at more than one location and by more than one family member. Have to say that we haven't had any issue so far. Perhaps it helps that we still spend weekends at primary location together. 🤷‍♂️
