Hahaha, touché. To be fair though, a lot of people struggle with email.

And if an easier version of email existed, email mightn't have caught on.

He's more than capable of joining the fediverse, but he's also a UI/UX designer. I would say his main issue with the fediverse is the amount of friction between a normie being exposed to the concept and actually signing up and engaging with it.

You have to admit that it isn't the simplest thing to do. People have to understand the concept of the fediverse, find an instance that will accept them, sign up (with confirmation required from the instance mods) and then find out how to find communities that they are interested in.

It's not about whether a tech-savvy person can figure it out with some effort, it's about whether normal people can transition away from a monolithic, streamlined, social media to it.

Yeah sure, the *arr suite in general is a bit advanced to set up, even if it can be done in 30 minutes with experience.

Nintendo just doing what they've always done is ironically what gamers have been calling for all this time. Just make fun games with no silly BS.

Say what you will about Nintendo's litigation strategy (its to protect the value of their IP in their mind), but they're kind of crushing it even compared to Sony.

I think it's nice to see the popular gamer rhetoric getting it wrong this time i.e. non Kojima remake = bad.

Hopefully it leads to more nuanced discussion in the future?

Docker can be the install method for windows, and the whole suite of these apps. Probably the neatest way to go? Typically one installs this suite on a NAS that's running 24/7.

Jellyseer, prowlarr, and bazarr can be added to that list.

Because budget alone doesn't make a good game. It's a lack of creative vision and churning out safe bets that mean people just aren't excited anymore.

Teams of thousands working on a game designed by committee means no single group really has a vision of the creative vision of the project.

I get it that the marketing budget is important, they need big flashy games to justify the marketing budget required to get cut-through.

Ultimately I think it's the case that these dev teams are too large, and aren't making true art anymore, because true art is risky.

Small studios are the ones making art, and some of them are getting cut through into the mainstream. This is where good games exist now.

Retro Game Corps is the targeted channel in this video. He doesn't focus on piracy of games at all. Mostly he does reviews of hardware and has some high effort videos.

Ah okay, I'm not sure then.

Was that updating with "zypper dup"? I've heard going through discover or zypper update isn't the recommended way strictly speaking, so its worth mentioning.

He's on the better side of tech reviewers IMO. I think sometimes he's more focussed on describing what sets a product apart in the market, rather than judging whether that niche is worth filling or not.

Definitely doesn't feel scammy/overly ad driven.
