Let me guess, the streaming services on it will be like DailyWire+, PragerU. What else

I think this is a good move honestly, they want it to be an algo similar to meta which you know is terrible, meta is like mostly dudes saying gen Z men are AWAKE and hate LGBT people and tate clips. They seem to have much less success in the algorithm on tiktok

It's not even about propaganda it's not having it until their thumb, they can't push a button and ensure the top video under trans on every search is Matt Walsh, and yeah on all other major platforms if you search trans people critical of trans people pop up. The reasoning isn't popularity or engagement, the US government has ordered them to do it through backroom tax deals and Slapp orders. Next stop for the US gov is gonna be the fediverse and AT proto, they are gonna argue that not just anyone should be trusted and that running a social media server is a big task. security blah blah children, protecting your data. Than lass a bill require you to obtain an FCC license to host your own social media site. It only gets worse from here folks

I fucking hate them so much honestly. They can't even keep my data safe and they are overcharging me so much lmao.

I love how covid is growing and we are still with this back to the office bullshit.

Not to mention none of this will actually protect children. When I was 14 I told an adult online about my life and they helped me make it through some rougher periods until I got to 18. I know the internet is highly imperfect but I think gate keeping kids out of it will just lead to more underground abuse and abuse that they don't find was abuse until they are adults.

I love how this "sticking it to big tech" is also funded by big tech. The general goal of someone like Facebook with this legislation is pass a bunch of rules that only large companies like them can comply with, and watch mastodon instances and other attempts to detrown them end in FBI raids and more regulations.

I don't trust these numbers, I really don't trust any article that talks about my generation.

Why should some people be allowed to be rich but not most people?

I will be honest, I feel like all foss software has these issues, I use linux and there are so many devs I cannot really say who is who obviously, I just feel like for a ton of people expressly People of color it might be important to use software that isn't against your interest.

I feel like almost every single piece of software has some problematic dev that has racism, transphobia, or both. I recently read a post about the calc key devs and sighed *facepalm. It is honestly really annoying cause I want friends to use Fedi but than you can pull up a whole laundry list of problems with the devs and it's like (welp, signing up for threads). I feel like people care a ton when it's the small instance, vs a megacorp. Like Meta has a horrible issue with transphobia and racism but it only seems to matter if it's a smaller project for some reason
