Earlier this year I built something similar, although with more space for hard drives:

I used the following components:

Mainboard Topton N100 (AliExpress) This is actually a BKHD 1264 NAS 136,69 €
RAM 16 GB Crucial DDR5-4800 (Mindfactory) 40,78 €
Case Jonsbo N2 (???) 138,83 €
PSU 300 W bequiet SFX Power 3 (Mindfactory) 50,39 €
M.2 system drives 2 X 128 GB Patriot P.300 (Mindfactory) 25,78 €
392,47 €

For storage I bought used 4 TB drives from ebay for around 40 € each.

Now the system is running 5 x 4 TB in RAID 6 as well as a 256 SATA SSD I had laying around as cache.

The system is using 25 Watts in idle with those 5 HDDs, 1 SATA SSD and 2 M.2 SSDs.

It's a bit more you've been asking for but this option would offer you more expandability down there road.

You're correct but you apparently don't know how exhausting it can be to listen to kids talking from the second they wake up until the very moment they fall asleep.

I am very bad at filtering input (especially sound and touch) and sadly the Christmas days, when daycare was closed, were complete torture for me.

Are you sure? The EU parliament explicitly mentions USB C as the new mandatory standard.

🤔

I heard a short interview with the opera houses intendant (if I recall correctly) and he was pretty ~~unphased~~ unfazed by this story. He said that it was not uncommon that a few of the 1400 guests of the opera house get nauseous during a show especially on hot days when air gets stale...

Sounded like he wasn't convinced the nausea during the Santa performance was because of the play itself.

Why the heck does the "cross-posted from" link direct me to BDSM content on Jerboa? 😲

I didn't know, that HotS was still around. It's been YEARS since I've played my last round!

Why would that happen? There's no proof that printing money (while considering the boundaries of the real resources like available work force) automatically leads to hyperinflation.

I see what you mean, but this is not about having a strangle hold on the world or being the world's reserve currency. This is about having your own currency and collecting taxes in this currency. As long as a country collects taxes in its own currency there will be demand for that currency.

Okay, but even if the USA can't change the law regarding states bonds, it is virtually impossible that people stop buying US states bonds since the US Dollar is kinda like the most established currency in the world.

So your argument is completely theoretical.

Serious question? Money today is nothing more than a number in an account. When a country needs more of its own currency, it can increase it's account by that amount.

Hey community,

this is probably very specific but I try anyway:

I am planning on building my first DIY NAS and found this motherboard BKHD 1264 NAS.

You can buy it from AliExpress under the brand name "Topton"

It ticks all the boxes and is not that expensive. The only thing that looks sub par is the cooling. I am aiming for a silent build and these small fans aren't exactly silent most of the time.

So I consider changing the heatsink to something more confidence-inspiring and relying on good case fans.

My question: Does anyone know where I can find heatsinks that might fit this mount??

Edit in April 2024 for those who are looking for this specific board:

I bought the board and it's running my homeserver now. In general it works very well, the performance is good, it is stable (no crashes or any hardware hiccups).

The biggest downside is that fan control doesn't seem to work. The board has a CPU_FAN and a SYS_FAN header, both 4 pin but both headers seem to run at full speed all the time even though BIOS offers some basic fan control settings. I don't know if this is because of my incompetence or an error in BIOS but if you're looking for a silent build with case fans, this may not be your board.
