It's well worth reading the longer newsletter the above link quotes: https://www.wheresyoured.at/sam-altman-fried/

I kinda agree we are probably cresting the peak of the hype cycle right now.

If you limit yourself to media created only by authors that past your particular purity test your going to have a very narrow view of the world. There is a reason the HP fandom is popular and I don't think it's because it's because it's made up of budding transphobes.

All the centralisation in podcasting is the content delivery network (where ads are placed for the commercial ones). Where the feed is hosted it's fairly irrelevant.

What's wrong with the software? They are client web devices and with crostini you can develop at a pinch. But they aren't meant to be laptop/desktop replacement.

There are still some things meson can't do which we need the configure script for. The meson upstream are slowly working through our feature requests 😉

Indeed - the general configure, build install steps are fairly universal and the configure script doesn't have to cover from autoconf. We still have that and Makefiles as a wrapper around a meson based setup to keep the process familiar.

I have an binding for my terminal, my Emacs and a general fuzzy selector for apps or SSH hosts. I generally operate with everything full screen with windows sorted across 10 named workspaces across 3 monitors.

I have a stack of old phones in my drawer of tech I need to go through and check which ones work on postmarketOS. I think I have an old Pixel or two as well as Nexus phones.
