Not sure about the repo route, never went that deep with Chrome. Firefox has always been my mainstay (and Netscape before it.)

It is, but it's a lot harder to find privately hosted things thanks to advertising ruining all the major search engines.

This is really what people should understand, you CAN do all these things in Linux... you can change virtually anything to your liking if you are so inclined. And it's usually a Google search away if you aren't sure how to go about it.
