Because people get dopamine from shopping, even if it's garbage. It causes enormous amounts of waste, because most of the crap isn't used much if at all. They just make it look good on the product page.

Yes I had something similar happen

Starfield's lead quest designer had 'absolutely no time' and had to hit the 'panic button' so the game would have a satisfying final quest in c/games@sh.itjust.works

You stated that you cant connect a car battery to a fridge. You said nothing in your comment about 12v. I can connect my car battery to my fridge no problem.
