I use ubuntu because my provider has that by default. It's not my favourite distro these days, but gets the job done.

connecting your car to the internet is really dumb. The infotainment and navi should be connected, but not critical systems.

I don't use Brave due to lack of uBlock Origin support. Otherwise it seems like a decent browser.

Nothing beats Instagram, Facebook, Google, Microsoft or Twitter in spyware. Have you heard of the Snowden revelations? These companies provide all their data to US spies.

I was a happy Ubuntu user for more than a decade and I agree that it's a good beginners distro. I am now using Manjaro, which is also very good. In fact, Manjaro might even be more beginner friendly because it support Flatpak out of the box.
