Wow, a CEO who doesn’t buy into the hype? That’s astonishing.

I, for one, cannot wait for the bubble to burst so we can get back to some sense of sanity.

Edit>> Though if Baidu is investing in AI like all the rest, then maybe they just think they’ll be immune — in which case I’m sad again that I haven’t yet come across a CEO who calls bullshit on this nonsense.

AI will have its uses, and it has practical use cases such as helping people to walk or to speak or to translate in real time, etc. But we’re decades away from what all these CEOs seem to think they’re going to cash in on now. And it’ll be fun on some level watching them all be wrong.

Haven’t used anything related to Wordpress in 15 years. Seems I’ll make that a permanent decision now.

The problem is that you’re still not learning, then. Maybe that’s your goal, and if so, no worries, but AI is currently a hammer that everyone seems to be falling over themselves finding nails for.

All I can do is sigh and shake my head. This bubble will burst, and AI will still take decades to get to the point people think it is already at.

No shit. Senior devs have been saying this the whole time. AI, in its current form, for developers, is like handing a spatula to a gourmet chef. Yes it is useful to an extremely small degree, but that’s it…for now.

Exactly. You were much more articulate than I, with my comparison, but it was effectively the point I was trying to make — it’s not a public forum at all and it’s now overrun by a cesspool of nonsensical garbage.

Since Musk took it, it’s more like an arena where the loudest and dumbest have the microphones. It is neither a haven for free speech nor a forum where legitimate discourse takes place. It has become the trash pit of the internet.

Oh geez…who could have seen this coming?

Oh wait, every single senior developer who is currently railing against their moron AI-bandwagoning CEOs.

I just love how people seem to want to avoid using the word lie.

It’s either misinformation, or alternative facts, or hallucinations.

Granted, a lie does tend to have intent behind it, so with ChatGPT, it’s probably better to say falsehood, instead. But either way, it’s not fact, it’s not truth, and people, especially schools, should stop using it as a credible source.

There are only two ways to do this:

  1. Him becoming destitute and poor

  2. Him being dead

Neither is likely to happen anytime soon, so we’re stuck with this piece of shit for some decades longer. If the human race could collectively just ignore him, stop buying his cars and stop thinking he’s some kind of genius, then perhaps there’s a third option. But that relies on the human race having the capacity to critically think, which is even more unlikely than option #1.

I’m sure that’s a comfort to the families of the two kids who died and the two adults who died.

Make sure to tell them that everything will be fine now across the nation since there will be panic alarm systems instead of, you know, FIXING THE FUCKING GUN PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

The price of freedom: murdered children.

Strange, I didn’t even have to try it out to know that it’s garbage.
