People talk about open source models, but there's no such thing. They are all black boxes where you have no idea what went into them.

They don't do it because they claim that there isn't enough public domain data.... But let's be honest, nobody has tried because nobody wants a machine that isn't able to reference anything in the last 100 years.

Dumb question: why do you feel you need to defend billion dollar companies getting even richer off somebody else's work?

Also Van Gogh's works are public domain now.

That's a good mental backflip.

The argume t would be that their job is to advise buyers on the performance they would see. If most buyers are using windows and gaming then they should report windows gaming numbers.

However, there's a lot of people who aren't doing that and I'm not sure where we are meant to get our numbers from. Phronix I guess.

I think Odysee has created far fewer Nazis than sites with addiction exploiting algorithms that say they remove such topics.

To sell into the US government in the 70s you had to ensure your parts could be sourced from a second company. That way, if you had supply problems, the government would just got to the second source.

AMD was a second source for the 8086.

There may be content generators on there you can label that way, but that doesn't make the platform neo-nazi.

You take all of the stuff excluded from a big platform and put it on a small platform, and it'll swamp every other topic out. If as a platform runner you feel that you should not censor others, then this can happen.

On the flip side, there's nothing stopping other with less controversial opinions to post there as well. Nobody is going to be told their channel about supercars isnt racist enough, or their politics channel is too-left communist.
