This happens with every corporation after a while. Make a good product -> Get liked / recommended by the community -> Get big -> Get Greedy -> Make products shitty to maximize profit Also often add a 'Get big' can also be 'Get bought', product quality typically drops off of even more of a cliff if that happens. Another big indicator of a company that's about to go to shit would be if they get onto the Stock Market, as once you're in there, making sure that next quarterly profits are higher than the previous one becomes top priority above all else. Anything that takes profits without giving them more money will be dropped.

You missed the step between Get big and Get Greedy. They hire MBAs from other defunct companies.
