sdfsdafasdfMostly that at least right now there's hope for midterms to change things in Congress and then the presidential election to get Trump out. Right now we still have the trappings of a Republic. I think if elections got suspended all belief in a peaceful solution will be erased and people will react.
You have a point though, bread and circuses go a long way towards kowtowing the population. That and the risk of death at the hands of the state. I don't know where the line is that people will readily accept potentially getting shot especially if they're in white man suburbia.
