I get the error entering the link to their profile from a browser, but it opens just fine in Connect.

I wonder if it has to do with their username itself. Maybe it's not being parsed right due to the unusual character? 🤷♂️
I've seen several users with unresolvable usernames that were basic western text, this is an ongoing issue and I always report it to the mods but apparently it's still happening.
Yes, OP could make a new user with the same name on another lemmy server and see if it is hidden or not.
