This is a known bug in lemmy-ui. Looks like the fix was not backported to stable yet.

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/pull/3459

Edit: Fixed in #3968, will be included in the next 0.19 release.

I think it's a problem with UTF in the URL. That's why apps work well and browser for some reason doesn't

Inb4 you can't see God (what the username meant)

Guess out of my ass would be a browser url error. It doesn't work on either Firefox or Chrome on Android, but works fine on Voyager on Android.

I can see their profile from voyager android

Check the response payload in your browser. The UI doesn't give much info.

edit: I just checked it. It's not that Lemmy can't find it, it probably doesn't have code to handle these characters when it's in the URL path? The response status code is 500, which is internal server error.

edit 2: The clients probably directly use the person ID instead of the username or the username doesn't cause issues in this case for some reason, which is why it works:

https://join-lemmy.org/api/main#tag/Person/operation/GetPersonDetails

Maybe we can inspect what the clients' requests look like

My Arabic is rusty but I'm pretty sure that username translates to "Allah" - so maybe it is God playing tricks?

Lol.

Yeah the characters probably messing with something.

I can see the profile on my android client (Sync)

I get the error entering the link to their profile from a browser, but it opens just fine in Connect.

Weird.

I wonder if it has to do with their username itself. Maybe it's not being parsed right due to the unusual character? 🤷‍♂️

I've seen several users with unresolvable usernames that were basic western text, this is an ongoing issue and I always report it to the mods but apparently it's still happening.

Yes, OP could make a new user with the same name on another lemmy server and see if it is hidden or not.

Software testing, yayy!

If I open the link to the post in my browser and then click onto their profile, the page shows the LW logo, menu and footer, but its body stays empty.

That's not how blocking works

[–] mult@sh.itjust.works 6 points 8 hours ago

Blocked by whom? Even in private window+ without login I don't see that person.

[–] gigachad@piefed.social 1 points 6 hours ago

No problems with Voyager on Android via Piefed

Why do you want to see rhis troll who's hate for muslims make him support the terrorist state of israel?

[–] Asidonhopo@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

I've seen several users in the past few months that have profiles that go to errors when you click on them and they're always weird trolls like this.
