It's doubtful that the kid 'fooled' it. It's far more likely that it's programmed to let any kids that try to circumvent it, 'fool' it.

I don't use any social media other than this, and maybe a few music/audio forums.

But. I honestly don't get why more haven't moved to Pixelfed or Nerimity, as they are far more privacy focused (not very hard comparing to anything Meta).

If it's lack of communities/people, why not use the meta platform to advertise one of those two, the way everyone did the "je suis Charlie" thing that was all over the news a few years ago?

Meta are apparently unable to stop users doing something like that, allegedly.

Or so it seems when it's not their problem.

They are genuine questions by the way.. I don't get it, but I've never been on any of them, not even MySpace or Bebo.

I also wondered the same thing and came to the conclusion - if you want something done you have to do it yourself ;) Was going to start this later but if you want, come join here, make a post and then let's start breanstorming on this: !lemmy.world/c/FediPropaganda This project is already working pretty well: !lemmy.world/c/DeMeta (bigger on Reddit thus far)
