When people get really stressed and unhappy, they don't want to fuck.
What does the R: 15/ R: 13 I: 2 stand for?
this screenshot will be from a 4chan style board. this image is from the catalog view. [R] indicates number of replies, [I] indicates number of replies that also have an image attached.
for example, r13i2 indicates there's 13 total replies, of which 2 replies contain an image alongside any text
I'm surprised that 'number of image replies' is seen as useful information
But stay in the office for 80 hours a week even if you aren't productive. Also you are paid only enough to afford a 1 bedroom apartment because there are too many people and not enough homes.
This probably explains a lot of declining birth rates in western countries as well.
There's a plateauing effect that's been observed when health, happiness, and comfort are reached within a country. When your country doesn't have a high infant/child mortality rate, you don't need to have more than 2-3 kids. So the birthrate tends to go down.
Japan is sort of a whole different beast. There's some pretty good documentaries that discuss the issues when observed from certain fronts: the grind culture, lack of childcare, lack of gender equality.
There's a lot of cultural things that need to be fixed in Japan, and no one wants to change.
I think you're leaving out one of the biggest. Immigration is the main factor keeping many western nations out of population decline. Japan is fairly xenophobic and not really big on immigration.
The US for instance has an aging population and Americans don't have many kids anymore. Immigrants have bigger families at least for a couple generations and slow the decline.
True. I wouldn't want to live and work in Japan.
Also broke. I can barely support myself, let alone children as well.
But apparently only if they're stressed and unhappy in a wealthy-first-world-country sort of way.
