it's better to find common ground with your peers and then to work with them to make life better for everyone.
If Ted Cruz is in favor of free speech, so you can work with him on free speech issues to help everyone of all colors and creeds
And he really is in favor of free speech. He's never tried to shut down any of his critics. People send him all kinds of nasty things on twitter and he doesn't even block any of them.
Why would he block it, he gets off on it. He's got this same little grin every time he's confronted about an awful thing he did.
