I actually totally agree with this; I just think the solution is holding these companies to account rather than forcing all users to submit very personal identification.

Yeah, I’d love to see that too. I just see way too little of that happening. By the time they get regulated or held accountable the damage has been done and all they need to do is pay a fine that’s smaller than what they made. Malicious compliance la dee da. In California I think literally is a law that lets companies can buy their way out of anything violation of the law. Basically legalized corruption I guess
