I want this but no 5g is a deal breaker

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 13 points 11 hours ago (4 children)

What do you need 5G for with a phone like this, though? It's explicitly not a media-consumption device.

I'm on a provider that only has 5g in some areas. Nobody is putting up new 4g or lower towers I guess

[–] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 16 points 10 hours ago

While true, won't 4g be phased out in like 5 years?

[–] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

5g has better coverage for me.

[–] riko@lemmy.world 7 points 10 hours ago

Works better in high density areas than 4G, even bandwidth/latency aside.

Do you think the other gs are gonna run out of bits?

[–] OccasionallyFeralya@lemmy.ml 3 points 8 hours ago

The other Gs are all dead except 4g who’s days are soon to be numbered
