Many smart TVs require you connect to create an account. More might in the future.
Citation needed, could you provide an example or two? I have never heard of a TV that requires an account in order to be used.
On Roku smart TV from Walmart. I was present in the returns line when a customer returned it because he wanted something to use with his Dish Network receiver and this one required he creat an account.
So no, just as ID10T error.

ID10T and while I don't disagree that tv companies are becoming aggressive with their smart tv bullshit, hearing a guy at Wal-Mart isn't exactly empirical evidence.
