Yeah, there's that physical media.

I think that "bad for the environment" gripe is pretty weak. By that argument so are books. Meh.

Self host what? Last I checked physical media is the only way to own something.

TBF I'm pretty sure all the rare earth minerals and manufacturing that goes into the NAS and hard disks is far worse than some small plastic discs. I say this a a huge NAS user myself.
