I'm guessing they left after bring blocked by most instances. After that you may as well just go to another conservative forum.
Yep
They don't want their own instance, they want to troll everyone else.
So when that instance got defederated, they either just got a new domain using the same infrastructure or their users made accounts on less regulated but still federated instances.
I'd be really surprised if any of them only had one account to begin with.
I think there is a strong analogy to be made vis-à-vis spending your energy on regulating other people's sex lives or abortion rights or ability to come into the country or not, versus just living your own life and making it rewarding.
