Aren't the Olympics free?
Their streaming rights in each country is up for sale; similarly to most sports events.
Typically National TV channels will buy these rights since international events do attract a lot of viewers from said country since they as a country are being represented on a worldwide event; it'd make viewing it more easier if it was accessible everywhere and would give a huge boost towards the morale of player; but this doesnt happen all the time.
If you are in canada the whole of the Olympics are available on cbc.ca. broken down by sport, live and past event's
Not interested in public tv or sports so it might be wrong
Afaik public channels in Germany do broadcast some but not every sport discipline.
You'd think so, and they should be.
No, they aren't
I mentioned this in another thread : you can go to France Television's website and sign up with a bogus email (there's no check) to watch live broadcasts and replays for free !
One user pointed out to me that they may geoblock you, so a VPN would be recommended.
And then obviously it's gonna be in french, which definitely isn't ideal if you don't speak the language lol
But on the plus side it is costing the French.
Well, in a way it doesn't cost them anything because it's already being broadcast on TV for free, since it's the national / public TV
But also, I'm french and I despise having to give away my email to access "free" things so I just enjoy providing them with the most ridiculous emails, good luck with that database, fellow countryman 😈
In Germany it's the ARD Mediathek.
In Switzerland it is on srf.ch
