Yeah, good luck with that. You're going to get pennies on the dollar, which is why it didn't sell a few years back. Other than maybe Mortal Kombat, all of WB's games were purposely built to prop up their movie business. If someone had a game pitch, they had to make it fit into DC or Lord of the Rings, and I heard that right from a dev. If you have no IP to sell off with it, your payday is going to be tiny.
You have no idea what you're talking about. WB has insane IP.
Every Batman, DC, Injustice, Lego, Mad Max, Lord of the Rings, Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter, Hitman, etc game is from Warner Brothers.
Lego and Batman alone are worth crazy money.
Those would not get sold off with their video game division. If someone bought WB's video game publishing and developing arm, their most valuable properties are still making more money for WB, which is a shit deal unless it comes at a heavy discount. This is why it failed to sell last time. They were allergic to making new video game properties that weren't tied to their movies. They technically own Midway, so I guess that could sell, but they made that Gauntlet game with Arrowhead that sold basically no copies, so we're back at how much money someone thinks Mortal Kombat is worth.
(They don't own Hitman, btw.)
Interesting. I see where your coming from.
Yeah that'd be a tough sell.
Still, the entire point of it all regardless is my other comment. Piece by piece with a golden paycheck.
"Their games just prop up their movie business"
"You have no idea what you're talking about!"
lists a bunch of games based on movies
Lol yeah. I also agreed with them, if you read the rest of our discussion.
