ReVanced if you want the original Youtube app

Otherwise there are dozens of apps which don't show ads, just look arround F-Droid

A number of player apps. I use PipePipe (Newpipe fork).

I use PipePipe too. Also has SponserBlock inbuilt. Make sure you enable it though.

Alternatively, Firefox and uBlock Origin works.

On mobile I can avoid ads by using a VPN to my home network which then has pihole. Usually I just don’t watch any videos on mobile

Maybe they changed something, it used to work for me before I stopped watching YouTube on mobile completely
