I liked when they said “it’s concording time” and concorded all over the place.

Do it again Sony!

It's a game about a comedy song duo from New Zealand that shot their entire career's load of writing songs on a season of a TV show?

They call me the gamedevopotomus, my servers are playerless

[–] Chickenslippers@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

My games are so potent that in this small segment i made all of the players in the area pregnant.

I'm the cash-shop-anocerous. All my microtransactions bleed your wallet like a phlebotomus.

Do they let women play?

[–] warm@kbin.earth 41 points 2 months ago

Give it another 8 years of development Sony, maybe it'll be worth the time that time around.

There is actually an amazon show (idk the name) thats having a Concord devoted episode sometime this november, that might be a lead for re-releasing concord as f2p, idk but would be funny

I'm a sucker for hero based OW style games. I would have played it if ANY marketing had happened at all, and I had had ANY idea it was even launching this year.

The only marketing I heard was the less than 1k players at launch.

[–] vithigar@lemmy.ca 15 points 2 months ago

They had a reveal trailer as part of the PlayStation State of Play back in May, and basically the entire internet collectively lost all interest the moment it revealed that it was a 5v5 hero shooter.

[–] antmzo220@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 months ago

I probably would have tried it too, but the first time I heard about it was when they were announcing the shutdown lmfao

Deadlock has a better marketing, and it's a closed alpha lmao

[–] Faydaikin@beehaw.org 2 points 2 months ago

The marketing: "Valve might be making a new game..."

Everyone: "Oh my gooooood!?!?"

[–] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I looked at it but damn the game looks ugly as fuuuuuck. And it's not a thing i usually care about. From a technical aspect i would say it's really good looking, but the colour palette they used and the character design is laughable. The game would need some apex movement or something Titanfall like to save it. But it's just generic and ugly.

It's still fun, though. I think it has a cohesive look that I would call "visually distinct for gaming purposes" rather than specifically beautiful.

[–] MeetInPotatoes@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 months ago

You're visually distinct for gaming purposes.

Whoa, sick burn.

[–] flashgnash@lemm.ee 27 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I'm out of the loop did they un-release the game?

[–] B312@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Servers are gonna close today

[–] flashgnash@lemm.ee 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They refunding people or was it free to play?

[–] B312@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Suprisingly they’re refunding everyone, it was 40 USD too

[–] flashgnash@lemm.ee 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Wow from the sounds of it they're gonna lose like, 400 dollars out of this debacle

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There’s also the $100 million development cost

[–] Tamo240@programming.dev 6 points 2 months ago

Presumably it will come back as some free-to-play, live-service microtransaction-filled nightmare that can be supported by a few whales and eventually make up the cost

[–] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Shit should be public domain, free for anyone to host themselves. I don't give a shit about this particular game but leaving the preservation of cultural history up to for profit entities is not a good idea as they have proven time and again.

[–] B312@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

They did hint that they might bring the game back, but it’s not 100%

[–] MarkalAlvarez@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

A game dead before launch, amazing! At least we got Black Myth Wukong this year

[–] averyminya@beehaw.org 2 points 2 months ago

It will be delisted on the 9th

[–] rem26_art@fedia.io 12 points 2 months ago
