My goal is just to have a community where people can go and see what new game news is out for the day and comment on it.

Take two bought the game, no?
Also: the devs went to work at valve it's not like they can't physically talk to the single most powerful person capable of resolving this if I'm wrong on point #1
Yeah the devs sold it right? Like that's how business works? Ain't yours anymore bud.
Except that's not what happened
What happened then??
The publisher got bought.
Well, that's kind of something you sign up for when you get a publisher. It's fucked up, like what record labels do, but not surprising.
If only there was a way to know!
Wow what a useful fucking comment
That's what I thought about yours yes
I'm talking to someone who knows the answer, you needlessly added yourself to the conversation. Added nothing.
Lol they're reciting the article to you. That's the way in "if only there was a way to know"
Also my comment was made an hour before their reply
Who the fuck cares? Only you, and you still care because you keep replying. I bet you're going to reply again because of course the actual discussion doesn't matter to you, but this one tidbit instead.
It’s not that Take Two bought the game, they bought the publisher of the game. The devs wanted to submit an update, which they normally would do by sending it to their publisher. But now their publisher no longer exists, so they send they want to send their update to Take Two, but apparently some red tape is in the way.
Why does gaming even need publishers? Unlike books or movies the number of sales outlets seems rather small, usually in the single digits.
Randy bought it, it's his property now. I understand hopoo needed money, but they should have made some provisions for extreme idiots attempting enshittification or inept fixes. Their legacy is getting bumfucked a bit, RoR2 is a travesty now.
They did not make sell the game. Their publisher has been shuttered, the game is still theirs, it's just that people who used to deal with publishing aren't there anymore.
At least read the article before making statements like that.
I’m not sure how much they care now that they are working at Valve.
Imagine if Microsoft could have reached into your Banjo Katwoee cartridge and replaced it with Nuts and Bolts
