Phobias suck so much ass. I don't think those poking fun understand how embarrassing and frustrating it is to have a sudden panic attack over something you have no control over.

True, but I'm curious how someone gained a banana phobia. Was it a Little Albert situation and they terrified her as a baby every time they showed her a banana or something?

Edit: she isn't the only Swedish politician with a banana phobia. The hell is going on with Swedish bananas?

I can imagine a Doctor Who episode that starts with banana phobia, and later the Doctor discovers there are aliens posing as bananas in Sweden. Some young children can see through their disguise. And that’s why the minister has had a phobia since childhood.

Sounds a little like Resident Alien (if you omit the bananas and Sweden).

Sounds a bit like Swedish Resident Alien (if you add the Sweden back in)

Swedish Resident Banana Alien. Why not just go all the way?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Now that's just silly!

Banana phobia starts with the Doctor replacing your squareness gun with one

Now I want the episode of the 'invasion of the banana'

Our prime minister is very upset by the fact that the media is even talking about it.

Just don't show me to Paulina Brandberg

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

I think you're safe, you're obviously not a banana.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Wait, does that mean I should show a banana? Cause you are no banana.

Come minister Paulina, tally me banana. Banana come, and me run away.

Is she a cat or something? I've never heard of anyone being afraid of a food item they aren't allergic to

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

I can tell you haven't watched enough trash TV.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

That's bananas!

[–] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 4 points 11 months ago

I wonder how many minion memes have been created as a result of this?

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 11 months ago

Are they a cat? Maybe someone should tell them that it's not a snake.
