I watched equally stupid stuff when I was a kid and I came out mostly fine.

...I think.

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 39 points 10 months ago

We had salad fingers and hamster in a blender, if all these kids have is heads in toilets I'm sure they'll be fine.

[–] 567PrimeMover@kbin.social 37 points 10 months ago (3 children)

Having watched videos like Charlie the Unicorn or Badger Badger Badger, I say let the kids have their fun

We’re on a bridge, Charlie!

[–] Rolive@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

We're going to Candy Mountain Charlie!

[–] mack7400@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

"WHAT WAS THE POINT OF ALL THAT?!"

[–] ZILtoid1991@kbin.social 12 points 10 months ago

At least Skibidi Toilet does not contain jokes about "surprise buttsex"...

[–] NotSteve_@lemmy.ca 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

These videos aren't even new really. Source filmmaker videos have been a thing for like a decade. I remember GMOD idiot box was huge for a while

[–] Dasnap@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Idiot Box was exactly the series I was thinking about when I made the comment!

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (3 children)

Yes but no. Skibidi is way more repetitive, and that's what people are more concerned about

[–] MY_ANUS_IS_BLEEDING@lemm.ee 21 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I've only watched a few of them, but they seem to have a vague story-arc at least. To me they just came across as old-school absurd internet humour like what we used to have 20+ years ago.

[–] PopOfAfrica@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

I once had a dream about a self improving race of robots that started small and ended in a hellscape similar to this. People would (rightfully) find this series less stupid if it wasn't about toilets.

[–] cashews_best_nut@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago (1 children)

"Badger badger badger" isn't repetitive at all...

Snaake! It's a snaake! Oh, it's a snaake!

[–] Aatube@kbin.social 2 points 10 months ago
[–] 4am@lemm.ee 5 points 10 months ago

Yeah because cartoons never repeat a joke

[–] Hubi@feddit.de 59 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Now, investigators are being tasked with watching the 70 current episodes of the epic battles between toilets and humanoid machines in Garry’s Mod

Those officers would probably prefer to be at the frontline right now.

[–] Deceptichum@kbin.social 17 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I dunno, I binged the show a few weeks ago to see what it was all about. It’s like 1 minute an “episode”. Remove the toilets and it’s about a war between two sides who build bigger and bigger robots to fight.

Pretty cool animation and interesting world building. I’d do it again if I was paid.

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 40 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I bet Steven Segal is mad that a series about toilets has had a bigger cultural impact than any of his movies in the last 10 years.

[–] DontTreadOnBigfoot@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago (1 children)

He's fine with it. He's been a plumber for about 85 years

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I thought he was a chef on a boat

[–] bort@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 10 months ago

Just a lowly, lowly cook

concerns over "detrimental effect"

Serious scientific research into brainrot being conducted here.

[–] TheGalacticVoid@lemm.ee 8 points 10 months ago

Unironically, there's a lot more to worry about with Gen Alpha than Skibidi Toilet

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago (1 children)

These comments all reveal such a quaint childhood y'all had. If Russians tapped into my groups stuff, they're have to search up "Blue Waffle", "Lemon Party" and of course the classic, "Two Girls One Cup".

Go on, search it up. Especially you, Russia.

(Full disclaimer, I also had Badger Badger Badger, Charlie Mountain, and all the great things on ol' NewGrounds. The kids are alright.)

[–] pete_the_cat@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago

No 1 guy, 1 jar?

[–] OpenStars@startrek.website 17 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Should I be worried that Russia has time to devote to this of all things? :-P

Then again, anyone who has watched it knows exactly how dangerous it is - it shows people cooperating, even (gasp) helping one another, a dangerous idea indeed! :-D

[–] occhionaut@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Russia only has time for warmongering, propaganda, and more warmongering. This probably falls under propaganda, just in a "youre not endorsing glorious Motherland? SUSPICIOUZ..." sorta way

[–] OpenStars@startrek.website 3 points 10 months ago

That's a good point actually. Never underestimate the power of a good saber rattle, I suppose? Also, they can't show the enemy how tough they are (not) on the battlefield, thus it makes sense to start terrorizing little children next, who are so very traitorous as to be (checks notes) watching YouTube cartoons. Yeesh :-(.

[–] HoustonHenry@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

Late to the game, but I bet they're just in sheer disbelief on what those toilets on the screen are capable of! I bet they are eyeing the village toilet very distrustingly

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 7 points 10 months ago

It remember the tf2 sfm YouTube poops, I was there. This is nothing new

[–] lingh0e@sh.itjust.works 6 points 10 months ago

I was worried for a second when I thought Little Big was in trouble. They're not only "good" Russians, they're awesome Russians.
