From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

A new Linux user posting an anti Linux meme on a Linux community, on Lemmy. Well, I wish I had a tenth of your courage.

I do hope they go easy on you, brave soul.

Mandatory "I use arch btw..."

I used to use Arch but I never bothered to make a script that gets everything the way I want after a clean install and my Nvidia drivers borked btw

[–] TriangleSpecialist@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

I do hold my breath whenever I see nvidia-dkms in the list of pacman updates. It's good to get some thrills, just to feel alive.

Maybe you should post this to WindowsMemes

[–] TabbsTheBat@pawb.social 26 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The last one just sounds fun tbh :3.. linux is basically a hyperfixation for me at this point, so I'd be down for a casual 10 hours chat

I think that makes you “the guy who really likes to talk about Linux.”

Probably yeah haha

If you're not sure who the Linux enthusiast is in your circle, it's you.

I hear more complaints about Windows from Windows users than from people who solely or primarily use other OSes. Unless you count “Okay… so why don’t you do something about it?” as a complaint, that is.

Is Microsoft posting AI slop memes now? What is this garbage?

[–] nagaram@startrek.website 4 points 2 months ago

A Microsoft glazing botnet leveraging copilot and all of r/linuxsucks training data to shitpost on Lemmy made by a developer who took a Janatorial job at Microsoft to "get his foot in the door" during an internal hackathon he was accidentally invited to.

It is older than a day but it may be spam.

"Windows has inconsistency with icons and design in some areas."

I prefer Linux, but what? Oh, hello pot! Have you met my friend kettle?

Get wrecked, op.

Tbh, not sure about the seat. The guy might be fun to start a "best distro" argue-til-blue-in-the-face-about-something-pointless with, and the wolves... if you feed them, you'll have a pack of cute puppies who want their bellies rubbed, and I like dogs...
