One is an open ecosystem of decades worth of games, especially with the emulated ones and the other is a walled garden of over-priced games. Yeah, I am sticking to my steam deck.

two gaming handhelds both released in 2025 have comparable performance? The hell you say
I’m glad money is of no concern for you but one device costs twice as much as the other :)
switch 2 games are much more expensive than games on pc, plus i get access to my entire library with the a pc handheld versus just my switch library.
That’s a really weirdly passive aggressive way to respond. I don’t want either of these devices, but you posted a shit article about nothing.
It feels like Nintendo is a lot like apple. It doesn't matter if it's a worse product than their competitors, their users have accepted the walled garden wholly.
Gotta love the catharsis of emulating Nintendo's flagships on competing products, though. Hard to do that for Apple's hardware (although less relevant).
I had a buddy who would buy old apple computers, switch them to Linux so he could open a window of windows on an apple. That's kinda like what you suggested only backwards. lol
Considering the Steam Deck is the PC handheld market leader, doesn't run the bloat that is Windows 11, and is vastly cheaper than the Ally X, I'm really confused on why they didn't include it in the comparison. Literally not even a mention of the Steam Deck in the article.
The Ally X is a really, really bad value proposition compared to the Steam Deck. A 3-way comparison would have been much more interesting.
Because this is a PR fluff piece bought and paid for by Nintendo.
They might not even need to pay for it and just do it to avoid getting blacklisted.
I can't take articles like this seriously because the guy publishes up to 5 of them a day. I know that it is their job and they get advance copies to play before release day, and they have assistants.
Nintendo...not even pirated. I refuse to even contribute to their popularity given their litigiousness and patent bullshittery.
Their switch 2 games are pretty meh so far anyways, they've been on a downhill trend for a while
We've reached the point of diminishing returns on hardware. IMO, anything that can't run on Switch 2 probably deserves to be scaled back anyway.
