My brother and ex-wife were both psych majors so I’ve heard lot about this experiment. I’ll give it a shot. Mac, windows or Linux. I’m pan-OS-ual 😀

I'd like to help you mate

I love games like this, but again this is lemmy. If it runs on linux I will playetest it!

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 6 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Has anyone downloaded it yet? Just to make sure it's not a virus before I run it ;)

[–] Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Yes, I've had a few playtesters from here. Hope someone confirms that it's not a virus

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

We got a confirmation! That's good enough for me :)

[–] cobysev@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago

I've been playing it this morning. Virus scan came back clean, and the game has been interesting so far.

[–] CaptSatelliteJack@lemy.lol 3 points 18 hours ago

Eff, please tell me I didn't miss it

[–] ted_pikul@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

If it run on Linux, I would be happy to give you feedback.

[–] Chip_Rat@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

I'd give it a go.

[–] DasBrotMitWurst@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

I'll check it out.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You want someone to test your games for ways to break it? I know just the guy!

"Hey there, it's Josh. Today we're checking out The Milgram Experiment. Thank you devs for the complimentary game code. This is a horror/moral choice simulator. And we all know how trustworthy MY morals and choices are! But enough about that, it's time for NEW GAME!!!"

20 minutes later

"Well, everything's on fire. Everyone's dead. And the frame rate is a staggering 3 frames per year! So that seems like a great place to call it a day. I hope you had fun, I know I did, and I'd like to thank the devs for this copy of their broken game. I'll see ya next time!"

[–] Chip_Rat@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago

Read in his voice.

I do admire his line of reasoning. Just every time. Like I used to do silly things in the sims and theme park, but his natural curiosity is next level. HOLD PLEASE.

I play a lot of games (over 4,000 games in my Steam library) and I've made a hobby of reviewing them here on Lemmy over the past year. I especially love horror games. I would love to give it a playtest and provide constructive feedback.

It's up to you if you'd like me to also post a review of it here on Lemmy or wait until a finished product is available. You can see my post history to see the kind of reviews I write, or you can check out my blog where I'm archiving my reviews here. Easier to browse the history of posts on the sidebar at that website.

Are you retired or young?

I cant imagine that much time! Good for you for being creative with it.

[–] cobysev@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

Are you retired or young?

I'm retired AND young... well, relatively speaking. I retired 3 years ago, at 38 years old. I'm 41 now.

I was in the US military for 20 years, earned a pension, plus 100% disability through the VA. With the passive income and benefits (free medical/dental for life), I can afford to be fully retired now. I'm not filthy rich by any stretch of the imagination, but I make enough to live a quiet, relaxed life and have my basic needs met. And that's good enough for me. Plenty of time to indulge in my many hobbies. And I have ADHD, so I'm always finding new and interesting things to deep-dive into.

I actually started a movie review blog about 6 years before I retired. I ended up taking a hiatus from it shortly after retirement and just haven't been motivated to get back into it lately, despite all the movies and TV shows I watch regularly.

I switched to reviewing video games sometime last year and have been mostly keeping up with that; although it's been over 2 months since my last review. I should probably make a new post soon, or declare another hiatus. 😬

Hi, this is very very early beta. I don't want anything from it shared in the public. It's just not ready for the wider audience. That's why I'm doing playtesting, so this thing can git gud before people try it :D

[–] cobysev@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

That's cool, no reviews yet then. Not a problem!

[–] kylekatarn@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I choose to playtest it

[–] Allero@lemmy.today 0 points 18 hours ago

Sounds fun! Can see how well it runs on Linux.

[–] Sunsofold@lemmings.world 11 points 1 day ago

I played another guy's game (game dev thesis project) based on the Milgram experiment. It definitely didn't have this level of graphical fidelity. I'd be happy to give some feedback. I'm running Bazzite at the moment so if you need someone to look at for proton compatibility, etc. I'm happy to be the guinea pig there as well.

[–] MyBrainHurts@piefed.ca 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't play many games etc but just wanted to say congrats on finishing it!

Also, cool subjects material!

[–] Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Thank you! You are very kind

[–] Alcyonaria@piefed.world 2 points 1 day ago

Down to test and review whatever you need.

[–] PanaX@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

You are amazing! DM'd you! : )

[–] Jarr@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My wife is interested and would love to try it.

[–] defaultusername@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Seems like my type of game. I love me some psychological horror and philisophical dilemas.

I'd be more than happy to provide feedback. I consider myself somewhat of a conesseur :P

[–] planish@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Now I'm thinking with portals.

[–] otacon239@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Definitely interested. Would love to take an early peek.

[–] J4g2F@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

If you need any Linux/proton teters I'm willing to test it. I can run it on Steam Deck, crappy laptops and of course game pc's.

But don't know if you want the variable of Linux/proton in the mix know. Or only windows in case Linux/proton is creating more bugs.

Anyway looks like a nice game and good luck with the development either way!

[–] EndlessApollo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This looks awesome, I'd love to help test it :3

[–] Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Thank you so much, already sent you a DM!

[–] msokiovt@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

I should have Neigsendoig test this for CoculesNation. He'd be happy to test this part of it out.

Feel free to DM me so I can give you the email he uses for Cocules Media, of which I was a video editor for.

[–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I'm down to try it.

[–] ampy@discuss.online 2 points 1 day ago

I'm interested. I'm also on Linux so I'll be able to provide feedback about Proton and Steam Deck compatibility.

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I'd totally give it a go

[–] yoreel@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Definitely interested!

[–] gointhefridge@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

This kind of game sounds right up my alley. I would love to help in some way.

[–] waterSticksToMyBalls@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'd love to play test, does it work on the steamdeck?

[–] Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's not on steam yet. Only PC Windows right now

[–] defaultusername@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The chances are pretty high that it already works on Linux via Proton, even without any testing.

[–] Entheon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I like the idea, and the graphics look really sharp. Definitely would give it a try.

I love the name!

For those whom are not in the know, the milgram experiment is a real study.

Where people were assigned as gaurds and others as prisoners.

The study showed how those in power are very likey to abuse it!

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 1 points 1 day ago

I'll play test it. I remember these experiments.

[–] yersinda@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Can I try it
