ChatGPT will never reach this level of creative writing.

[–] GamingChairModel@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The only solution is to train LLMs on more 4chan content, surely there will be no side effects from that.

[–] spicehoarder@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago

Basically Grock then.

I understand that this is a joke, but you can open a keyboard on your phone and just select random word suggestions it gives you, because the result would be practically the same.

Raising llm's teperature gives you more chaotic token generation, rather than the abstract "creativeness". To be creative you actually gotta think, you know

So you're telling me higher temperatures means it's more like a monkey on a typewriter? So with a long enough period of time and enough chatgpts...

"It was the best of times, it was the BLURST of times?!"

GPT creativity peaked with the bottles pit greentext

[–] pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 3 days ago (1 children)

they never even had a chance past GPT-2

[–] EldenLord@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

Does anyone remember the incident where GPT-2 generated incredibly horny outputs?

Maybe someone at OpenAI conjured a Cummo onto the training servers. The thought of a 4Channer working at a tech company horrifies me though.

Dobby doesn't want this sock...

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Master has given Dobby a sock? owo

I roll to push Dobby into the glue trap.

Still not the most disturbing fanfiction premise i’ve ever seen.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

HP fanfic has no limit. I know of at least one that actually spawned a cult that has killed people.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm curious now, do you have a link?

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

It's a fuck off massive rabbit hole, but look up "harry potter and the methods of rationality", and then read about the zizians

[–] lastweakness@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh wow... I liked Methods of Rationality... Didn't know it spawned a death cult somehow...

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I was shocked too. I was fortunate enough to read it and merely think "Huh... That was amusing. Anyway, back to Doctorow and Stephenson." Apparently a fair few of EY's readers were all "this is my life now"

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

Some of the more, shall we say, dedicated HP fans seem to genuinely struggle to understand that it's a story, and never happened.

If ever there was a fandom to go off the deep end like that, it's Harry Potter.

[–] lastweakness@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, I don't really care as long as it's not the author starting a death cult, but it was an interesting read

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 2 points 2 days ago

I can't make the claim that "the author started a death cult", but I will say that they and their followers are closely patterned from the self-help grift template of endless seminars, and their ideology centres on moral absolutes and arguments that are intended to be so compelling that they describe some of their ideas as an "infohazard".

Using only pop culture and fiction as primary sources, the "rationalism" subculture intended to create a system of ideas that was undeniable, according to its own logic - and then they accidentally spawned subcultures due to differences that were irreconcilable because of (I feel) their own absolutism. And if you follow these things, a subculture within a subculture is, 7 or of 10 times, a cult.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well, that's quite a read.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 4 points 2 days ago

It is a dire amount of ink spilled in service of bullshit and, ultimately, murder. If your time has any value at all to you or your loved ones, I will gently suggest one of the podcasts that go over it. Behind the Bastards did a pretty okay job.

[–] morphballganon@mtgzone.com 31 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Definitely wouldn't be Neville doing it

Or at least he wouldn't be hitting his intended target

His pants perpetually have stains on the crotch.

Here is a anon who knows almost nothing. Just like the rest of them.

I will never interact with the works again, but even I know Diddledore would award Griffindor points for this.
