So I listened to it and heard nothing about death penalties for reporters. Am I missing something?

Which they turned into "Demands Death Penalty" because DailyBeast is a tabloid.
TBH I'm sick of DailyBeast and Rawstory showing up in my Lemmy feed. I'd argue they violate this community's "credible sources" rule.
Yeah no, the president saying people should be charged with something thats punishment is death or life in prison is exactly that.. saying those journalists should be put to death or life in prison for what they have written.
It’s tough, because I don’t want to give him or the American justice system the benefit of the doubt, but I really hate the misrepresentation of this in the media. Charging someone with treason doesn’t mean they’ll be imprisoned or executed, it means they’ll be put on trial. If this story had addressed the potential for the president to bias the country against these reporters by calling personally for them to be charged with treason, I would be a lot less annoyed by the headline, but it’s inaccurate and they didn’t put any actual investigation into this piece.
It might be splitting hairs, but I really do wish for exhaustive Nuremberg style trials when I call this regime criminal, treasonous, and genocidal. I wouldn’t mourn if a few of them didn’t make it to trial, but I don’t want them to be able to take their secrets to the grave en masse.

Point is, that's not what the quote directly said. And that's what distinguishes journalism, and tabloids like DailyBeast (or talking heads/"analysis" like Fox News). Hence, every actual news outlet on this topic went with a factual headline, and quoted Trump directly instead of making a jump.
This distinction is very important to me. Ragebait like DailyBeast is why Trump is in power and the world sucks now, because it works.
I get your point, but the president saying people should get life in prison if not killed for their 1st amendment right which he swore and oath to uphold would be an absolute reason for an immediate impeachment to most.

Iran does have sea drones, and they have made giant holes in tankers at sea level with them. Iraq claimed that 2 of them were used to turn 2 real tankers into 2 giant fireballs in their harbour. I have seen AI of 20 simultaneous missiles hitting downtown Tel Aviv, but a bigger problem than AI on Israel is that Israel is criminalizing the sharing of strike information, with selective permission after for whining about civilian areas. If using AI for fake news, there is a Netanyahu video out early today, where his wedding ring fades in and out. He should then give death penalty to IDF/Netanyahu (he could be hiding instead of dead) for fake news.
It is next level, Hitler's bunker, and losing, to be resorting to this level of desperation.
Pretty soon trump will have to release the epstein sex tapes to distract from the war!
