Putting anti cheats in single player games should be illegal.
But Denuvo is DRM software to prevent privacy, is not an anti-cheat :?
DRM should be illegal. If we have devices that can copy information instantly, it’s not our fault that it’s incompatible with capitalism - seems like capitalism is incompatible with nature. Find a new business model.

According to their own site it is both apparently. Either way it is used for both purposes, and for single player that makes no sense.
But one of the 2 uses does make sense for single player games.
Really? It constrains or prevents modding, which is a core part of PC gaming.
Copy protection for single player games is essentially pointless. Even GTA V let's you do what you want in single player mode because it is offline.
The only reason they might want anti tamper is to support in game purchases, which is equally senseless for single player games.
It's an antipiracy measure, not anti modding. Have you never heard of denuvo before?
To repeat myself . . . Anti piracy is pointless for single player games. Without the need for anything online game cracks don't have to work hard to bypass such copy protection. Also it is anti social, often requiring to be online just to play a purely offline game.

How is anti piracy pointless for single player games? Why does the number of players matter? Online vs offline again doesn't matter when the whole point is that the company wants to sell games rather than have people pirate them. And don't think I'm pro denuvo or something, you just don't seem to be making sense with your criticism.
If you want to prevent piracy don't make games ridiculously expensive, or block modding, or force users to be online when they shouldn't need to be.
Its the same problem TV streaming service are having. Their model worked when they priced it well and you didn't have to get 5 different services. Now that's happened privacy is well on the rise again.
It is nuts to think that copy protection for single player games makes financial sense when all it does is piss people off and encourage more piracy.

True, but i doubt any game devs are using it for that reason, it's just a side effect of the anti piracy.
I'm still not basically disabling most of my PC's security to play pirated games though.

Hypervisor bypass doesn't work on Linux. Gotta be on Windows if you want to use it.

Wine is user space, hypervisor is at least kernel level. Cannot install windows hypervisor in wine.

You could develop one quite simply (i.e. via KVM APIs), but you would sooner run into issues due to the type of verification mechanisms Denuvo uses on legitimate copies
How effectively does that work? Can you spoof the Ring -1 permissions? Maybe I should set up single-GPU passthrough.

Do these hypervisor bypasses work if I were to say, run the cracks under WINE or Proton? I have been waiting a long time for X Shadow Generations to either be actually playable on switch emulator without major bugs/glitches that kill it or an actual PC crack!

I look at this list without seeing a title I care about, I am not disapointed, infact I am happy.
It is kinda of great that games that are worth playing don't have denuvo, to me it almost feels like a nothing burger that denuvo got cracked

Bean Soup Theory in full swing. I fully believe that algorithmic feeds have heavily contributed to the rapid decline in reading comprehension. One of the biggest parts of reading comprehension is being able to identify the target audience for a piece of work. And most of the time, the answer is not “me”. In previous decades, if you saw something that didn’t pertain to you, you would move the fuck on.
But algorithms changed that. People got used to having feeds that are laser-focused on their personal interests. And this has led to a decline in reading comprehension, as people simply aren’t using that part of the skill anymore. So now when they encounter something that isn’t meant for them, they have a tendency to try to make it about them.
The phrase “bean soup theory” comes from a recipe for bean soup, which was full of angry commenters asking things like “but what if I don’t like beans” and “what would you replace the beans with if you don’t like eating them?” The obvious answer is that if you don’t like beans, don’t make bean soup. This recipe is clearly not meant for you. You should move the fuck on to find a recipe you’ll like. But those commenters are so used to algorithmic feeds that they have lost the ability to recognize when something is not aimed at them. So instead of going “oh, this isn’t about me” they got angry and tried to make it about them.
To bring it back to the main post, there are several incredible games on this list. Many of them are absolutely worth playing. But the above commenter had to make it about them, instead of going “eh, not interested” and just moving on.

there are a lot of games on here that are neither AAA or big piles of shit... you're just not interested in them.
Well, I can wait for those games' developers to stop losing their mind and remove the cancer from their game. They aren't getting one cent from me, otherwise.
This is a list of games from which Denuvo was removed. That makes them potentially worth playing. You’re outright dismissing the entire list of games because they had Denuvo at one time.
I’m not even suggesting you support the developers, pirate away. Some of these games are good now that Denuvo was removed.
Me when I don't buy any games sold through any launcher DRMs, I only have DRM-free thingies. Bliss.
Get fucked Atlus. I'm not sure I have an appetite to load windows to use these but I'd have bought every game by Atlus on release like I did up until I decided I'd rather skip the ps5 and stick with PC but instead I've bought one of them (persona 4 ultimax which I didn't realize had it until now)

Anyone have luck running these on linux? I tried the Crimson Desert one but Bottles couldn't handle the install and I didn't bother to try harder
