Paying an escort to spend time with you certainly doesn't come with the same sacrifices as an organic relationship. And, unlike chatbots, "nerdy escorts" are real people who can provide human perspectives on things like AI, crypto and economics instead of just echoing back a tech worker's thoughts on such subjects.

At that level of wealth they could probably very easily get a woman no matter how they may look. But the liability and threat to your wealth is very real. It’s hard to tell if they are in the relationship for you or your money (most likely your money).

Sex workers have existed since the dawn of mankind. For most millionaires/billionaires its likely for most that it is easier just to pay for company that is agreeable and will give you what you want without a lot of time, effort or more importantly liability.

At the end of the day most men with money who pay for high end escorts, don’t pay to get a woman. They pay so the woman goes away at the end of the night.

Plenty of women in tech. What these tools want are sycophants who tell them their crypto is mad powerful broh and then give them a gobbie

Is this not what a consultant is?

[–] paulcdb@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago

How do i get in on this?

I feel if they marketed AI better they’d get far more subscribers. Right now they seem to be focused on ripping off businesses which seems very short sighted.

I’ll offer all my marketing insights for just 10% of all new subscribers under my marketing campaign! 😎

“Omg, can I un-zip your hard-drive?” Am I saying it correct?

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 5 points 18 hours ago

Hey I will do a lot for money but I draw the line at crypto.

[–] willington@lemmy.dbzer0.com 22 points 1 day ago

Even one billionaire is a policy failure.

Got these people are inept. They are multi-millionaires and yet they still need to pay girls money to talk to them. If they were just moderately pleasant and approachable not only would they save $6,000 they would also probably have a nice life.

[–] Insekticus@aussie.zone 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Hey, now, these creatures are rich, not intelligent or empathetic. I'd bet 95% of them inherited their money or started off with a little $2m loan from their parents.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 2 points 2 hours ago

Ding ding fucking ding. I know a guy who literally write the book on several things. Has a skillset that had Big Tech begging to headhunt him. Very, very, very smart and up there in the tech hierarchy on a woz-like level (keeping it vague because if i went into detail he could be doxxed)

Dude is married, open relationship, drowning in pussy when he wants it. Because he's a genuinely decent person and a great guy to hang around.

And they say the rich are good with money.

[–] fruitycoder@sh.itjust.works 44 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Its funny how to many the whole concept seems new, but to me it's just the topics and price range.

Escorts, and strippers have been entertaining patrons with intellectual conversations probally for as long as the second oldest profession has been around.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 18 hours ago

Seriously. I actually did some male escorting for a little in college. It's mostly just conversation. I can count the amount of times it was sexual on one hand.

[–] ThirdConsul@lemmy.zip 29 points 1 day ago (5 children)

intellectual conversations

crypto

Pick one.

Ahh, I fell hard in love for a full 24hrs with a dancer from Miami in London Stringfellows a few decades ago... She had the looks and body of Grace Jones and was studying Computing at UCL.

Nothing but admiration. I hope she graduated and has a fine career.

are they really that elite if they have to pay people to talk to them? idk

[–] BonsaiBoo@lemmy.world 61 points 1 day ago (3 children)

That’s how these lonely bigoted dorks with new money think being rich and powerful and cool works - overpay for whatever you want and force others to give it to you, with money you gained through slave labor, destructive practices, stealing from future generations and corruption. They think might makes right, so yeah, they think they’re elite for paying people to pretend to care about them when they’re not on stage or social media or in a board room.

I doubt these guys are paying someone $6k/hr to disagree with them.

No, the prostitute definitely just really likes me. She said I'm the best she's ever had and my dick is bigger than anyone else she's had sex with.

Yahoo finance: Craigslist personals for the unloveable.

[–] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

They are just waiting for the Tesla bots to become life-like enough at this point.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 66 points 1 day ago

Holy shit that's pathetic

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip 41 points 1 day ago (2 children)

See, everyone? The market will provide jobs for all the junior devs that get laid (off) because of AI.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah but you have to be a hot women first and foremost.

I’m a woman engineer and for that kind of money might be able to stomach this (not that I’m anywhere near attractive enough for them to hire me), but I’m pretty sure if I were attractive enough and got hired they would probably only last a few minutes before I completely emasculated them by actually knowing what the fuck I’m talking about.

Sounds pretty fun, actually, now that I think about it.. as long as I didn’t need to fuck them

[–] themachinestops@lemmy.dbzer0.com 31 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't think there is any fucking involved, probably lots of crying though.

[–] Repelle@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Fuck, tears of the rich sounds like icing on the $6000/hr cake. Though they would probably expect comfort from me rather than laughter and mockery…

Wish I could talk bullshit and be paid for it...

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

A high end escort has a rare skill set. You gotta be a friend and a therapist, all while being attractive and comfortable to a range of personalities and environments.

I respect the hustle.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 18 hours ago

You can! Trick is finding clientele. I mean most careers really just boil down to your ability to socialize. I used to be in the legal industry for a time, and the absolute ineptitude at the highest levels was astounding!

I knew one tax attorney who openly bragged that he made a full ass career of knowing 3 pages.

[–] KingKong33@lemmy.ml 35 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Fucking pathetic that with all bullshit about how elite they are, and how they deserve so much more than the rest of us, they have to fucking pay someone to spend time with them.

This is definitely not new. Folks I worked with in SF went to parties where there were tech-knowledable escorts back around ~2010.
