Op isn't saying that anarchist organizing principles are deliberately inefficient at scale

Hmmm if you're running that many different services I would recommend going x86 and installing proxmox. N100 systems are very power efficient, though it might work out a little more expensive than a raspberry pi

It's actually kind of an open secret at this point that he got an actor to do his radio addresses lol. Also interesting to note that the only data we have wrt his popularity at the time is the 1945 election in which he absolutely shat the bed. He's been subsequently sainted as part of the 'tiny island, standing alone' myth making of the post-war era though

I feel like you lose a lot of credibility when your geopolitical analysis hinges on boners. I think very few would disagree with you if you said that Putin were cynically pursuing his and the Russian state's interests in the region, with complete disregard for civilian life.

The point is not that there are 'a tiny number of Nazis' in Ukraine The point is that there are a large number of Nazi paramilitary forces who were committing mass murder in Donbas well before the Russian invasion, and the Ukrainian government was complicit in these crimes, in addition to crimes of their own, such as shelling civilian targets. By all means, let's talk about ending the conflict, because the suffering of the people of Ukraine has gone on long enough, but a necessary first step is acknowledging that the conflict had already begun long before Russia invaded.

Hmm if you plan on using streaming services it's a massive hassle tbh. You can get away with using web apps with some sort of launcher, but even then you can't watch things in 4K because the DRM has a hardware component these days.

It's so great having stuff just show up in your library as it becomes available

And also on computers generally lol.

The situation: I'm trying out Bitwig on my geriatric computer, which is running Linux Mint. It seems that I can't do very much without spiking the DSP, leading to awful glitchiness in playback. However, according to btop, the CPU (i7 4770) load isn't breaking 30%, spread evenly across the cores.

Things I have tried:

  • uninstalling speech dispatcher, which helped
  • tweaking the pipewire config, which doesn't seem to have helped much

So... what is the bottleneck here?

EDIT: the (main) issue was that my user didn't have real time priority permissions. An edit to /etc/security/limits.conf has improved things immeasurably.
