That's never going to happen. Both Democrats and Republicans abuse NASA and take money from it. Because the public doesn't care or understand the importance of space travel. Your comments are a prime example of misinformation about space capabilities that NASA has. Without SpaceX, we would still be sucking Russia off to launch on the ISS. Spacex doesn't give a fuck about politicians and just does what they want. That might be bad one day, but today it's fucking great, and anyone saying otherwise is either misinformed or intentionally misleading

You know humidity causes rust too, right? And rain. Lol

SpaceX makes the most reliable rockets in the world https://arstechnica.com/science/2022/02/spacexs-falcon-9-rocket-has-set-a-record-for-most-consecutive-successes/

https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/most-successful-commercial-rocket-launcher

Keep talking and making a fool of yourself

Also trying to conflate my defense of a rocket company for some sort of love for an oligarch is beyond stupid. Get some help, you need it.

Telling how you only focus on the few experimental failures vs the hundreds of successes. Just admit you're a hater based not on logic but just hate. You have no other argument. Loser

This is dumb. SpaceX is launching over a hundred times per year. PER YEAR. Dear Moon was always a long term goal for anyone in the science community they understood it will never happen before 2030. The large launch quantity has helped reduce launch costs and has enabled small sat launches aka cubesats. Universities can now launch things to space because the launch costs are so low. So your statement that it hasn't helped anyone is patently false. You just have a raging boner against SpaceX, but you are incredibly uninformed. You can either continue in your delusion or see that SpaceX is actually good for the industry, universities, knowledge, and technology over all. That is all. Have a good life, or continue being a miserable hater. Whatever

Cry harder. SpaceX is single handedly saving the US space industry

Cry harder. Without SpaceX the US space industry would be worse than Russia right now. SpaceX launches hundreds of rockets per year and saves NASA millions in launch costs, and can actually launch people into space, unlike Boeing

The FDA is only approving this for clinical use, so yes, there is something wrong with them. Healthy people won't be installing chips into their brain. Probably not in our lifetimes at least as the tech is not safe enough

As long as you exercise all the stock they give you one way or another, you can leave whenever you like. You still own the stock if you leave. The real scammy part that no one seems to mention is to give really long vesting periods

Yeah, a space station is actually pretty impressive given that no other country besides the US and Russia have one, and that will be gone by 2030 with no plans for a replacement. If you don't think a Space station is impressive then you're very ignorant. So in a few years China will have the only space station in space. They launch multiple rockets per week while the US just has SpaceX launching at a similar cadence. Go stick your head in the sand if you want, but outside of SpaceX the Chinese have a better space program and just saying "we did it x many years ago" is completely irrelevant to today. All of the tech isn't here anymore. There is no space shuttle. The SLS is a boondoggle that will never fly after a few expensive Artemis missions. ULA is basically bankrupt and trying to get sold. Boeing Space is a disaster. Today is what matters and I believe Chinas space program is in a much better place than ours. Today. It's a result of attitudes like yours that handwave away anything that China does and leads to stagnation and complacency and corruption

Yeah you missed the part where they have a fucking space station and a growing private sector of reusable launch vehicles that are copying SpaceX.

[–] Argonne@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

It's as if they are still in testing. This is many years away from being safe, but it will happen
