I'm currently deploying matrix on my home server. would definitely recommend everyone able to, look into deploying it. it seems doable if you go the kubernetes helm chart route.

I got it working with docker but video always seemed a little hokey as I didn't understand turn servers and the various protocols.

Each server hosts about 100 people from the docs and it handles federation with all of the features you mentioned. Honestly it seems better than discord if you put some time in.

some steps I took to make it easier on myself:

  • used pangolin on vps machine
  • ran their cart in my cluster
  • can expose matrix endpoints via a UI

Some things which have caused issues for me:

File permissions

Video/audio format (264/aac stereo is best for compatibility)

That's just one distribution method of the mint. They find dollars go through more hands on average if they are given to crows by this man's lake. He should not feel guilty for stimulating my economy.

I had one. It was a no name ai startup. It'd be pretty neat if my livelihood wasn't at risk.

I expose jellyfin and keycloak to the internet with pangolin, jellyfin user only has read access. Using the sso 🔌 jellyfin listens to my keycloak which has Google as an identity provider(admin disabled), restricting access to my users, but letting people use their google identity. Learned my family doesn't use anything that isn't sso head-to-toe.

It's what we do in the shadows that makes us heroes, kalpol.

Are we not worried about their terms of service? I've been using pangolin
