Exactly.

If gas cost $100 per gallon, cities would HAVE to build trolleys or subways. Which is my dream. I just want trains

Based

Imagine how much better the world would be if gas cost $100 per gallon

They’ve been raised on systems where you don’t need it, and they fundamentally don’t understand how one talks to a computer. It’s actually quite a bit to learn, and if you didn’t grow up doing it, it seems like a big cliff.

Good. Kids don’t need cell phones, and they really are a huge distraction.

Hahaha python

They don’t even have math in the base language, you have to import numpy to do basically anything.

I use mpv but the configuration is a big pain. Just try overriding a subtitle font in mpv, there are config files to change that don’t even exist by default and they live in different places depending on mpv version and it’s a huge mess.

I still do it because it’s lightweight and for some reason has better performance for me than VLC.

You mean the people who are making a sequel?

The censorship gets to me, too.

Try asking bing image creator to draw Jesus. Not a problem. Buddha, Ganesha, David and Goliath, Zeus, no problem. It will give you great depictions.

Now try asking it to draw the prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. No joy.

Censorship.

They aren’t over hiring relative to the number of people it takes to make a game.

They over hired relative to the number of people it takes to get people to buy the game.

I went to school in the early 90s and we didn’t really have IDEs. Just text editors with regular expression find and replace and syntax hi-lighting, none of this “show a semitransparent box with your functions arguments” stuff or linters or whatever.

I still don’t know how to use a modern IDE, I use sublime text. And I debug my code using print statements.
