It's not TIFF. This isn't NASA imagery. PNGs do alright on compression for photos.

(at least I hope NASA hasn't captured images of Quark)

Nice find. That one tells me 1401x1705 and 0.86 MB.

Why is that PNG file 1.3 MB? Is it huge or just unoptimized? Is someone using it as a fullsize Quark poster or something?

I could go give it a negative review if that would help you feel more grounded.

Just kidding, congratulations :)

Yeah, in GTA IV, Niko doesn't have any character stats, and his appearance never changes except for whatever clothes you buy. I assume it's the same for the 3 protagonists in V.

It's my favorite of the series, though I never played V.

San Andreas struck a great balance between serious and ridiculous. Some of the gang rivalry story hit pretty hard for its time, but also there was a mini Las Vegas and a goofy jetpack and tons of dumb Cluckin' Bell jokes. It even had RPG elements like CJ getting more fit if you work out or fat if you fed him tons of fast food. Not everybody loved this and not surprisingly it was cut from later entries but I thought it added to the world. And the map was great, lots of variation between city and countryside. Great soundtrack too, rivaled only by Vice City IMO.

IV just didn't do it for me. The phone (cousin Roman!) was obnoxious, the cars felt too heavy, the story just wasn't very funny, and the map was pretty much all city.

Maybe I'd enjoy V since it's huge and supposedly the vehicles are more fun, but I hear the story isn't great.

In contrast to this exec and many of the responses, another Steam Next Fest is happening right now! Go play free demos of upcoming games, 99% of which are Indies you've probably not yet heard of.

Retro Games Corps got hit, even though Russ only does legal emulation and backups. It's his "2nd strike" on YouTube (3rd is channel deletion). He's always been mindful of the situation and considerate of not spoiling games or encouraging anything close to piracy from what I've seen.

Many are from a huge list (some modified) but I picked out favorites that seemed fitting for a pet and it was actually easier to just retype them. Some were my ideas (e.g. Lt. Dangle because I love Reno 911). I didn't want duplicates so alphabetizing was the simplest way to avoid that. And yes I giggled pretty much the whole time 😁

If ammo got simplified then I'm sure weapon condition / repairs got the axe too. Wish is fine I suppose. But hopefully attachments like scopes and suppressors and grenade launchers are still included, those were great.

On ammo I'd be okay with simplifying NATO vs Warsaw Pact rounds because that's a bit hard to track for anyone unfamiliar, but as you say I liked the overall immersion of matching bullets to the gun.

I'm hoping the PC modding scene takes off because that will let us customize all kinds of things.

Windows 7 Ultimate for me. I still kept it as a boot option on my main PC until about a year ago because I thought I still needed it for a couple windows apps and games.

I tried Win8 at one point and hated the changes. I also tried Win10 and one of those "forced bloody updates" bricked my machine so I said 'fuck that' for good.

I've dabbled in Linux for 20 years, and run Ubuntu on my living room HTPC for at least a dozen. My main PC runs EndeavourOS now and even gaming has been pretty great.
