Apparently not... Is it somehow still widely used. It's the most likely paper to give you paper cuts though https://physicsworld.com/a/researchers-cut-to-the-chase-on-the-physics-of-paper-cuts/

Unless one of the stick horses break, and they drag it out back and saw it into kindling

All you need to know is that people are having harmless fun

Indian version of Florida man

[–] HejMedDig@feddit.dk 2 points 3 months ago

That's a very valid point

True. Didn't think of it that way

I think messing up on NASA projects will hurt a company way more. Of course aviation is supposed to be safe, but even the 737 Max has flown thousands of hours. Comparing how many people that have flown on them, versus how many that have been hurt/killed, is still a small number, which is still is supposed to be zero of course.

Traversing space, a pinnacle of engineering, is quite another level of danger, and if you insist on your product being functional and safe, and then kills two astronauts, would cause a whole different level of backlash

In this particular situation, if Boeing says it's safe, I would be inclined to trust them, because if they make the return happen, and it fails, Boeing is done fore. As a crew member though, I would pass for sure and wait for a Dragon

My remote is also starting to die. First 'down' went, and now 'home' is gone too. Luckily passthrough from my tv remote works fine, so now I'm just using that

There are several reasons why the ability to determine gender from iris images is an interesting and potentially useful problem (3). One possible use arises in searching in an authorization database for a match. If the gender of a sample can be determined, it can be used to order the search reduce the average search time. Another possible use arises in social settings, where it may be useful to screen entry to an area based on gender but without recording identity (3). Gender classification is also important for collecting demographic information, for marketing research and for real-time electronic marketing. Yet another possible use is in high-security scenarios, where there may be value in knowing the gender of people who attempt entry but are not recognized as authorized persons.

So useful for marketing, and harassing my trans homies. Fuck that shit!

From a biological standpoint it is still quite fascinating
