I know a few guys who helped author some vertical specific CRMs that are in retirement age. A project like this might be good for them as it would give them something to do. Passing this along.

I have played UT on and off since its original release. I am glad that there is no way to figure out my total hours played.

Mastering the awkward silence is a very powerful tool. I am not kidding. If done right, people become uncomfortable and start to talk in order to fill the awkward silence. In those anxiety filled moments, people tend to overshare.

Long silence combined with providing minimal information is also an amazing negotiation tool. You'd be shocked how often and by how much people will give up ground when confronted with awkward silence.

“The Onion is proud to acquire Infowars, and we look forward to continuing its storied tradition of scaring the site’s users with lies until they fork over their cold, hard cash,” said The Onion CEO Ben Collins. “Or Bitcoin. We will also accept Bitcoin.”

I do not have a Framework but it is my understanding that they are designed for maximum flexibility and compatibility. I doubt that you will have any issues.

I too ran OS/2 back in the day (started with 2.0). I started my Linux journey with Red Hat Halloween in 95(?), but I tend to only recommend Debian based distros to beginners due to the vast amount of support available for that flavour. On the server side, it's still RHEL and its forks.

Mint if you are coming from Windows.

Pop!_OS if you are coming from Mac.

Pop!_OS on a Thinkpad has been my daily driver for five years now. Not a single problem, ever. Rock solid.

No single administration has the ability to totally fuck up the country in the amount of time they have.

For anyone that hasn't played UT99, try it. There are still plenty of servers with active lobbies. I have played this game on and off since release.

I just need to gush for a minute. I am about to shutdown my server in order to move it to the basement. This off the shelf $300 desktop running Pop!_OS is my self-hosting server that has dutifully done it's job without a single complaint. It has been rebooted maybe three times since 2020 and it currently has an uptime of 840 days. That's 840 days of not ever thinking about this thing. It self updates via Cron jobs and just...works.

I am afraid to open the box up though. Those dust bunnies must be huge.

This series has a tremendous pacing problem. It took its entire six episode run time to to get nowhere. It should have been eight episodes with the current six condensed into four.

I don't think anything like this is listed in the Mega thread. Is there a good place to find high quality sample packs?

My main music machine is a Mac and my main everything else system is a Lenovo laptop with Pop!_OS. I would like to have the option to play with ideas on my Linux machine instead of having to switch systems when I feel inspired.

I already own the full version of Bitwig Studio butvI would love to throw some must have, Linux compatible, VST plugins into the mix.

Free sample sources would also be much appreciated.

The world of music production is dominated by Apple with Windows running a distant second. Thanks to DAWs like Reaper and open source plung-ins constantly being developed, music production on Linux doesn't seem like such a crazy idea anymore.

My main interest is the preservation of media history. To that end, I am looking for a good source of PS2 files so that I can catalog and archive them into a dedicated USB HDD. Then I'll store the drive in the random nuclear fallout shelter the house I bought came with until the day the world needs a copy of 'Little Britain: The Video Game'.

Seriously, any suggestions for collections sources would be appreciated.
