Wow. That's creepy in a fascinating way. Cutting corners costs lives, and this is a perfect example.

I think the real trick should be having big communities in many different instances.

It's okay to have a big community on one instance, it's like having a forum hosted at one server. The problem arises when most big communities are on the same big server.

I feel like the real problem is Google paying Apple, since they're both major players, not Google paying Mozilla. Firefox is not a major player at all (unluckily...)

I'm honestly a bit worried because I've noticed that most users are from lemmy.world, and the whole point of Lemmy should be decentralisation.

I'm not an expert, but I've recently used BulkNews and Fast Usenet and I liked them both. You'll also need an indexer, personally I like DrunkenSlug, NZBGeek and NinjaCentral, but not all of them have open signups.

Between private torrent trackers and Usenet, pirating has never been easier. I love it!

The antitrust case is about Google and Apple, not Mozilla. It doesn't mean the antitrust case will have any impact on Mozilla, because it's not a major player, unlike Apple.

If Mozilla stopped paying his CEO millions of dollars... and if they actually financed development with people donations...
