Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Now that I think about it, that adage is really dated, since most people don't use analog clocks anymore. Oh well, here's a dime, call someone who cares.
Squatters could move in the day after the property becomes empty. Really it depends on when it is noticed the house is unoccupied.
