Right? I read it like three times thinking I was just missing an inflection or something. Jesus

Is t it funny how this seems to be happening in every industry possible? And it’s always reported with sUcH sURpRisE!

Like, we are being abused by capitalists. It feels good to steal. Because they can’t stop taking more and more from us, squeezing us harder and harder.

When you present us with ease of use and a reasonable price point, we are happy with the trade. But they need their returns to keep growing, so they keep squeezing us harder. Their investors demand the line go up. So they squeeze us harder. They need to cut costs, so they squeeze us harder.

It never stops. So we turn to theft. Because they’ve literally left us no choice.

EXACTLY. These people think sadness = depression. Unhappiness is depression.

Depression is depression. It can happen to anyone. Even those with seemingly plenty of goodness in their lives.

It’s a classic incel viewpoint.

“Girls talk to you because you talk to them! Don’t give me some bullshit it about being depressed!”

I didn’t know graphics were even possible to be that good 9 years ago. How can that be

$700 million. A year. For one person.

That’s another of the biggest reasons our system is so out of balance.

Wait…that’s a joke, right?

[–] TheFriar@lemm.ee 13 points 9 months ago

I dunno. It’s full of articles, I’m reading news constantly, I’m discussing social topics with—now that I think I about it, surprisingly level headed people sharing interesting opinions….i learn a lot here. Sure, I also get shown really stupid shit. But I spend the majority of my time reading stuff. And looking up other stuff when I discuss things. So I’d disagree. Respectfully. My good friend.

I mean, yeah, I get that the US isn’t blameless across the board—or at all—but you’re drawing lines between two disparate things. Yes, spying is bad. We are agreed. Yes, the US is in deep with it. But what does that have to do with vulnerable infrastructure?

That’s like saying, “how can you sit there and tell me not to burn your house down when you stalk your ex girlfriend?”

Like….both are wrong. But they’re just not 1:1
