It’s not overly complicated. Social media has made countless people grow up to consider, first and foremost, how they can relate whatever news/issues they hear to themselves and reframe the issue to be centered around their own feelings.

Initially, the concept and usage of “woke” was positive, and it was primarily used within POC communities. But then, it started being used by white people—both white liberals and the right wing. And then it lost all meaning.

It meant whatever was most convenient for whomever was using it. It was used as a concept to bolster white liberal credentials while the right wing used to to describe any person/thing they wanted to tarnish with the word itself.

Social media is absolutely to blame for this phenomenon. And it’s partly to blame for the death of nuance. The de-evolution of our various forms of news also spurred nuance into non-existence, but social media trained the actual words coming out of people’s brains. It simplified everything in order to clearly establish order between liberal and conservative. Politics became a series of in-words to better learn who we support and who we yell at until we’re both on the verge of sending death threats. Politics is now whoever can land a snarkier jab has the high ground.

It’s fucking pointless. The conversation serves no one but the people having the conversation, so it can be held up as proof that they have the right beliefs for others who they are positive share their beliefs. Life is a big, meaningless joke.

If people cared about your opinion on their intrusive actions, they wouldn’t be doing anything intrusive in the first place.

So true. I have an older pair of headphones and they’re still the best sound I can get for my music. It’s the MOST immersive, not only like the sound is all around me, but right inside my head.

I masturbate on trains—not because I want attention, I just like the feeling of cumming and I wanted to cum.

The new trend I’ve noticed, actually is people SINGING/RAPPING along to the music on their headphones, like, fully as if they were the only ones there, while on a packed train.

I mean, i guess it’s better because it’s not as loud as their shitty Bluetooth speaker at max volume peaking like crazy, but it is super weird and very fuckin annoying.

Like, cool, we get it you’re so super confident and think youre as cool as the person you’re listening to in one of their music videos. But you’re not. Because you sound like shit and you’re a dick. Everyone else is getting through this train ride, why the fuck do you think we want to hear YOUR rendition of what you’re listening to? Like, I really can’t decide which is worse. One is way louder but one is way fuckin weirder. People who do either of these are true assholes.

Pet T-Rex hack.

Free rent hack.

Free food jack.

Personal football stadium hack.

Indestructible Safe house hack.

And when you’re bored of that life, wait for the t-Rex to go extinct. They’re very well known for it.

Lol I’m not crying “SOCIALISM!” because someone recommended taking care of poor people. And maybe it’s just the communities on lemm.ee, maybe it’s because I interact with the communities more because I can’t bite my tongue. But I come across way more communist communities than anything else. Your instance matters. I see a lot of communist communities. As an anarchist, the prevalence of communism on lemmy is troubling to me because I see huge flaws in the thinking and i want to see the left not follow down a doomed hierarchical road that has proven to be a failure over and over and over again.

Honestly, this place is full of communists. I’m not the biggest fan of communists, to be frank. There is a lot of backwards ideas that get accepted as “leftist,” when they’re really statist. Particularly revisionist history statist. If a communist party said it, you gotta defend it kinda thing.
