This is true.
How the tables have turned. They are actively abusing their users instead of protecting them.
Internet is becoming more like cable TV where these Social media companies produce content and all users become consumers. You are allowed to technically post but organic community interaction will die down and everyone becomes lurkers.
Ilused to use searx.be , had frequent down times and bad results.
Switched to startpage.com
Even basic A3 printers look like over 600$ . What's your use case.
Thought it was Skyrim on first look.
I think bluesky and twitter will become politically divided and become their respective echo chamber rather than Twitter going out of fashion.
Overall the discourse quality will go down at both places.

My 14 yr brother was using stock android on one of the old phones and I flashed lineage os on it with Android 14. The UI was a major upgrade and home screen looked very modern on an old phone.
The very first thing he did was install instagram and YouTube to watch reels and shorts.
I asked him if he finds anything different and he says he does not find anything different.
New generation isn't even aware of the Android os they just straight go to SM to consume short video content.
